"Citroën, my love. When I was inspired by you it was really a better time."

Oh yeahhhh. I remember damn well. My father's agency advertised Citroën for many, many years. I grew up with Citroën. Exactly in the DS, BX, GX, CX and my first car was the 2CV - we called it the "Schnee-Ente".
In the DS the whole family drove to France and Spain on vacation. Without any child seats, headrests or air conditioning. My brother and I - we slept on the floor just behind the front seats and we dreamed of flying to holiday in the DS, like Fantomas Legendry Fly. Later, in a 2CV I had my first romantic affair and it took me to Paris for the first time. And I'm not going to forget that the whole family almost died in a CX because of a broken axle in a sharp turn. I also remember that all my friends in the car puke - because of the very special suspension called Hydropneumatik.
And yes - I will remember my father all my life, who brought his Citroën permanently to the service station, often cursing at home but he never drove another brand, because Citroën was his first and only love.
Yes, I remember damn well. It was a time when cars still had a soul. A time when you still loved brands. Not because they were cheap, economical, efficient or environmentally friendly. No - because they were special. It was a time in which cars were still clearly different.
And today? Today everyone is just thinking about autonomous driving in cars that all look the same. Beautiful new world? Maybe! My world looks different and I am really happy about all "classic cars" which are still on the road.
And sorry, Citroën - I don´t agree with your Claim ore Slogan. "Inspired by you since 1919". That´s not true. I was inspired by you. And just in the moment you forget it, you lost me. But - I do not blame you, no, I will always love you in my memories and I´ll never forget you, my old love....
